Juan & Lauren | Wedding | De Uijlenes

rebeccagroves-wedding-photographer-de-uijlenes-lauren-juan_0001 cover.jpg

In a magical forest, surrounded by family and friends, Juan and Lauren said their vows. Followed by a spontaneous song dedication and picnic, this natural setting at De Uijlenes was a perfect context to celebrate love, joy and community.

A hearty reception including some touching speeches and a flash mob dance off by the bridal party were some of the special moments that marked the rest of Juan & Lauren’s special day….

Alvin & Donna | Wedding | Vrede En Lust, Simondium

I love hearing how couples met for the first time. For Donna and Alvin, it was on a Canadian bound plane journey where they first hit it off. Donna was flying back home to Canada from her work, at an NGO in Limpopo, and she just so happened to be sitting next to Alvin. And the rest (as they say in the classics) is history.

Having chosen the beautiful location of Vrede En Lust near Simondium as their venue, and complete with a bubbly group of family and friends from all over South Africa and the world, the stage was set for a magical wedding day.

Hannah & George | Wedding | Lenham, Kent, UK

Choosing a venue for a wedding is always one of the big choices couples make. It often seems to set the tone for the memories that are made on the day. For Hannah and George, the quaint English country town in Lenham, Kent, UK was the ideal place to say their vows. Not only was it a beautiful setting for their ceremony at St Mary’s Church, but also a stunning reception was set up at Hannah’s parents residence. In fact there was much effort put in to prepare for the day, even the lawn slope was specially re-leveled to accommodate the marquee, and additional equipment shipped in to make it all happen.

Julian & Katia | Engagement

ebecca Groves Engagement Photography

It’s always a beautiful thing to see a couple in love, and this lovely pair are no exception. We drove up to Bedford to meet up with Julian and Katia for their pre-wedding shoot and Julian, being the romantic that he is, had already selected a great venue for the photo shoot – the historic Houghton house.

It was so lovely to meet Katia for the first time, and to capture just some of their joy and excitement from behind the lens as the big day approaches.
It’s going to be such a glorious wedding – I can’t wait!

George & Hannah | Engagement

Rebecca Groves Photography

During this UK visit, one of the weddings I have really been looking forward to was that of my friend Hannah.

We have been friends since early school years, and it was a real honor to get the opportunity to capture her and George together a few weeks before the wedding date.

Doing an engagement shoot is always a great opportunity for couples to get some extra experience in front of the lens, and always pays off with great photos on the day.

Wedding shoot to follow shortly – watch this space!

Mark | Portrait

It’s been great to catch up with old friends during our short stay here. One of Nick’s friends is a great musician, and he needed some photos to update his online presence.

Running short on ideas as to where we should shoot, we managed to find a spot nearby a local shopping area that had some good texture and lighting that would compliment and enhance the photos. We were lucky to get it just before the sun went down!

Matthew & Heather | The National Liberal Club, UK

Rebecca Groves Photography

I thoroughly enjoyed photographing the wedding of Matthew and Heather in London. It was a grand occasion celebrated by many family and friends. The ceremony was held at St Martin-in-the-Fields, in Trafalgar Square – a bold and historic church building in central London. The almost angelic sounds of the church organ blending in with choir and congregants set the tone for this lovely couple to exchange their vows in the presence of their loved ones.
