Mention to me anything to do with vintage or fashion, or even better, both and I am there. So when my friend Iliana asked me if I would consider coming along to shoot a Vintage Fashion Show in aid of The Sozo Foundation…I, or course, said a big yes!
The event was held a couple of weeks ago in the Casa Labia and ladies from far and wide came to enjoy a morning of fashion, music from Jenny Eaves, eats and prizes 🙂
I can’t believe I have lived here for nearly 10 years and I had never been to the Casa Labia in Muizenberg. What a stunning venue…I think if I had known about it before I would have considered it for a wedding venue as it is so grand! Now added to my list of ‘to do’s’ is to go there for tea and cake and feel like a princess for one afternoon 🙂
Back to the Fashion Show…. the story behind the clothes in the show is quite an amazing one. When Iliana’s mother passed away she found her mother’s clothes from the 1950’s era in the attic. These dresses and accessories are all intact and even include her mother’s wedding dress. Being an event co-ordinator she decided to use these dresses for a cause and put on Vintage Fashion Shows around the country in aid of charities. I felt so privileged to witness these beautiful dresses – and the wedding dress at the end was the cherry on the cake 🙂
If you would like to attend the next Vintage Fashion Show and see these dresses for yourself you can contact Iliana here.
