Garth & Shelley | Round The Bend, Swellendam

25 April 2012

Something I love is road trips…   A couple of weeks ago Nick and I jumped in the car for a road trip to Swellendam for Garth & Shelley’s wedding.   Off the beaten track, at a place called Round The Bend, right on the Breede River is where Garth & Shelley had asked family and friends to spend the weekend to celebrate their wedding with them.  Round The Bend is situated right out in nature, so you feel so away from everything and so relaxed because of it.  They offer white water rafting down the river, which some of the guests did on the Saturday morning before the wedding.  Next time we go there I will definitely be trying that!   Garth & Shelley met while they were both in the UK a few years ago and after being together for a while decided to both move back to their homeland SA and then get married :)   They sure know how to throw a party, with everyone dancing all night, hubbly bubbly going on one of the tables, and later in the evening a fire performer came out under the moonlight, right near the river.   Shelley designed her own dress and the theme of the wedding was a masked ball, everyone was given their own masks and the reception hall was decorated with silver candelabras.   And the cake….well the cake was to die for!  Topped with icing, with sponge inside and in-between Lindt white and dark chocolate mousse.  You only need to mention the words Lindt chocolate to me and I go all weak at the knees :)   Thank you Garth & Shelley for letting me be a part of your special day :)
